The Month of March

I apologize for not putting up pictures for the month of March, but frankly, I just didn't feel like it! March was very busy - so forgive the number of photos, but I just want everyone to be updated on the goings-on in the life of Calder. Everything revolves around him!

Calder helping Daddy put up Crown Moulding. He loves the ladder!

I couldn't resist this jersey for him when I saw it! Da!!!!!!!!

Uh-oh!! Here's what happens when Calder gets exuberant with a box of Alpha Bits. He loves saying all the letters he knows!

Calder and his Avo on a recent visit.

Calder loves loves loves Freezies. We started giving him them when he was teething badly, now he wants them all the time. Sometimes it's the first thing he asks for in the morning. Beeeee!! (is what he says)

Our finished Crown moulding (ok, we just have a few touch-ups left). Great work, Gary!!!

My Grandmother at her 93rd birthday celebration. Doesn't she look just beautiful! I hope I can look as good as her at 93, and have lived such a happy life as hers.

My sister Colleen and her boyfriend, Dave in a candid moment. She's going to kill me for putting this picture up, but Colleen - I think it's stunning! This was taken at my Grandma's party.

Also at my Grandma's party - another great example of beauty, my Mother!

Gary and Calder at my Grandma's party enjoying the yummy cake! Calder kept going back and forth to eat cake - Mommy, Daddy, Mommy, Daddy.

Gary's birthday was March 12th and to celebrate, we went out for breakfast at the Station Grill here in Ajax. What a yummy breakfast! Calder loves drinking like a big boy out of a cup with a straw.

Is he not adorable?

Calder playing Daddy's Soccer game on Gary's birthday. Calder calls Soccer "Doc". He's actually scored a few goals, if you can believe it!

Just look at that intensity.

Goooooooooooooaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllll! (well I don't know if it was a goal, but he sure was excited about something in the soccer game!)

Just another cute picture.

Calder helping out Daddy blow out the birthday candles on his cake. Mommy was a bad wife and bought Daddy the wrong cake from DQ but at least this picture is nice.

Just love the looks that Calder has. He has so many expressions.

We recently went to one of Calder's cousin's hockey games. Calder just loves Peter "Peeee" as he says - and Calder loves hockey. What a great combination!!

Here's a couple of pics of Gary and Calder having some fun!

Calder still loves Guitar Heroes - more specifically, he loves the guitar more. He calls the Guitar "gar".

Here is Calder at his Grandma's for Easter Dinner. He looks like such a little boy here!

Calder giving Colleen's boyfriend Dave "Five".

Mommy and Calder horsing around. What a cutie patootie. (Him, not me)

Calder's never really had much chocolate before this. A chocolate chip cookie here or there, but never plain, unadorned chocolate. After his Easter Egg hunt he dove into an egg - he loved it so much!!

Calder, as always, being such a good boy on the road to Avo and Grandpa's for Easter Sunday dinner.
Yet another cute picture of such a cute face!

I took some shots just this morning of Calder and Daddy at the computer. I love this picture because Gary looks so happy here. This one is going in my scrapbook for sure.

We are truly blessed to have such a happy child - I hope he forever holds on to it!

I read a post somewhere where someone said something so beautiful about their child. It holds so true for so many parents, I am sure. I know that I think it, too.

Calder is my heart outside of my body.

Ramblings

Sorry I haven't blogged much lately - life has been busy with this active tornado we call Calder and also Gary and I are attempting to do a few DIYs around the house. Last weekend we were unsuccessful at putting up crown moulding ourselves due to a few glitches, but we are hoping it will be up soon. Over the next few weeks we will be putting in a backsplash and over the March Break (I have 2 weeks off, yay!) I am going to attempt to paint our master bedroom. Calder is right into the crownmoulding, though - he holds up a piece of the crown moulding and points to the ceiling and nods yes when Gary asks if he is going to help.

Calder's health tends to be the same - in a constant state of cold. I cannot wait for this Winter to be over, for Spring to come - and also, for Calder to be with me in the Summer. Hopefully then we will see Calder without some sort of cold for even just a week. Right now he has yet another cough - thankfully it doesn't wake him at night but when he coughs in the morning, it's not so nice sometimes.

Anyway, I am very much looking forward to the Summer when I can spend some time with Calder around the city - going to the Zoo, spending time with friends on playdates and hopefully hanging out in our (fenced?) yard.

Here are some pictures over the last couple of weeks - some of my current favourites. :) You can be sure that these ones will turn up in a scrapbook somewhere or some scrapbook project. :) Oh by the way, I am now a scrapbook consultant, teaching people how to scrapbook and selling quality scrapbook products. I just received yesterday a hardcover-bound book that I had done of my Pregnancy Journal, and boy, am I happy with the results. I know that one day, Calder, or maybe his children, might enjoy reading this.

I hope everyone has a wonderful last week of February - can you believe it's almost March? Where are you Spring??

Calder loves using the kitchen stools as a jungle gym and a place to sit.

I think Calder was watching Hockey here. His interest is not waning!

Calder relaxing and having a bottle.

Calder's actually beginning to pose a bit for me - if I say 'cheese', he'll say it back!

I couldn't resist this T-shirt when I saw it. I love Calder in this colour, too.

Calder was so happy to have Dora start on TV - and also said 'cheese' for me here. But notice how he doesn't look away from the TV. That Dora!!

Calder's First Haircut!

Gary and I finally decided (ok, it was me who found it hard to finally decide) to take Calder to get his hair cut. While I had just trimmed up the bangs to the best of my non-expert abilities, the back of his hair was just too long and straggly. He definitely gets his hair from his Mom. So, it was time to go to the Little Tots Hair Salon. After a long wait, we finally got it done. I swear, that salon is busier than Adult hair salons. :)

While you can't really tell from the front that he got a hair cut because I had already trimmed the bangs, it's a world of difference in the back. He now looks like a little boy, not my baby boy anymore! I feel happy and sad all at once!

Waiting with Daddy

Wow, this is a neat chair!

What is this thing? I don't think I like it over me!!

I'm not liking this ONE BIT!

I REALLY don't like this!!

Distractions can work! (Even if for a short time)

Big Tears

Daddy helps out in distracting Calder

Mommy! Help! Are we done yet?

All done and a happy (and handsome) boy!
