Our Summer so far...

These pictures don't even begin to cover the number of pictures taken (Thank God for Digital cameras, otherwise I would be poor for all the developing I would have to do) and it doesn't even cover what we have done so far this summer, either. In addition to all of this, we have had two visits from Calder's Grandma, a visit from his Auntie Colleen, and a trip to the Zoo. Yesterday we went to the Lake and had a fun time throwing rocks in the water. :)
I apologize in advance for the weird spacing in this blog - no matter how much I try to fix it, it keeps changing back to large and weird spacing.

This is a picture of Calder sitting sooo nicely for me!! This was taken during a visit from his Avo and Grandpa - Gary cooked a Portuguese meal for us - Barbequed Sardines - yummy! :)

Calder and his Avo

Calder and Grandpa

Calder goes through phases of liking toys. Recently, he began to like this piano again and I often find myself bringing it down to the Family room, as per Calder's request "Bing"(his word for 'bring').
Calder wanted to try on my Sunglasses. What a cutie!! I think he's going to have a big head - they actually fit him quite well! :)

A great shot of Calder and his Daddy

Just a picture of my cutie.

Ask Calder to say 'cheese' for the camera, and this is what you sometimes get.

Calder and his Daddy recently took a trip to the Hockey Hall of Fame while Mommy got some much-appreciated and much-needed time with her sister. Calder had a blast, until, according to Gary, he saw all the goalie masks...he was a little scared of them. Oh well, he's not going to be a Goalie anyway, he'll be a Captain! :) Here is a picture of Calder and Gary in front of the Stanley Cup.

Here's a picture of the Calder Trophy - there is also the Calder cup...yes, Calder's namesake, even though I found the name in a Baby Name book. :p I don't care where it came from, I love Calder's name!!

Here's Calder pointing to his Future Team's Jersey - the Leafs!
Here's a Jersey that Gary was a bit astonished to find - Portugal!

On the way home, a moment of reflection on the Go Train.

Calder loves travelling on the Go train.

A picture of my baby and I. I love him so much it hurts.

Calder loves rice crackers - he is fanatical for them - "Cacker" he calls them.

Tonight Gary and I had a yummy Steak BBQ - our 2nd one in 2 years, I think we were due. Gary was in the mood for MEAT!

Calder sat pretty nicely at the table although he didn't eat any of the food. Well, he tried it, but he quickly spit it out. *sigh*

Gary throwing Calder way up high - Calder loved it.

We got a little pool for Calder today, since he seems to love water so much. He's come a long way from going to the washroom in the bath when he was just born. ;)

I hope everyone's having a wonderful summer. I may not be going away, or even leaving my city that much, but I am enjoying every minute that I do not have to work, and every minute that I get to spend with my son, no matter what we do!!

Time flies

when you're having fun...or is it when you're busy? :) At any rate, I've been having loads of fun and been loads busy this past little while! I am sorry I haven't posted any new pics lately! Get ready for a bunch, so I can get you all up to speed! Ok, I say 'you all' like there are tons of you that read this, but even for the few that visit this blog regularly - thank you - and here are some pics of our recent Life with Calder.
----------------------------------
This picture is from when we decided to wash the car on a beautiful day in April - Calder loved all the bubbles and helped Gary and I wash the car. He also decided that Daddy's scooter and his bike needed a wash, too.

-----------------------------------------------
I just love this picture of Calder - he looks so sweet (well, of course he IS sweet)!

-----------------------------------------------
I also love this picture of Calder. If you notice the shirt he is wearing, it is a Hockey t-shirt with a Maple leaf on it. I just got this for him not too long ago, but now he chooses to wear it every chance he can get (that's right, Calder now picks out his own clothes). You'll see in some other pictures he is wearing it - but it's a completely different day.

-----------------------------------------------
My Birthday

For my actual birthday, I sang in the Faculty Choir at school - it was the evening of our Spring Concert. Not what I would have chosen as a way to spend my birthday evening, especially after a day of work, but I had no choice. Gary and Calder did come to visit me and we went out to dinner beforehand and then they came to the concert. I was only to sing two songs - but as soon as Calder saw me from the audience, he started yelling "Mama"! Gary had to take him out of the theatre and they never saw me sing. Oh well. :)

That following Saturday I celebrated my birthday with family and some family friends. We went to Moxie's - I like their menu - and this location recently underwent some renovations and it was very beautiful! I had a lovely evening, it was very memorable! We took Calder with us - and while it didn't necessarily make for a relaxing evening, I wouldn't have it any other way - besides - there were lots of people to share taking care of him!! :) I must say that Calder did an AMAZING job for being in the restaurant for 2 1/2 hours.

Yesterday I made chocolate chip cookies and Calder loved it nice and warm, right out of the oven. Of course, that meant a VERY chocolatey face!! :)

Later, after his face was cleaned - he graced me with a happy face. :) This picture was taken using the self-timer - it was timed to take 5 successive shots - and Calder thought it was so funny to have all the beeping then a flash. It gave me a great picture!!

-----------------------------------------------------
Well, thanks for looking and reading, everyone! As always, I will try not to take so long to get pictures posted again, although I will not promise anything just yet! I am nearing the end of school and report cards and assessments are now upon me. I am really looking forward to the end of June, and the start of my Summer with Calder. It's going to be so much fun!!

The Month of March

I apologize for not putting up pictures for the month of March, but frankly, I just didn't feel like it! March was very busy - so forgive the number of photos, but I just want everyone to be updated on the goings-on in the life of Calder. Everything revolves around him!

Calder helping Daddy put up Crown Moulding. He loves the ladder!

I couldn't resist this jersey for him when I saw it! Da!!!!!!!!

Uh-oh!! Here's what happens when Calder gets exuberant with a box of Alpha Bits. He loves saying all the letters he knows!

Calder and his Avo on a recent visit.

Calder loves loves loves Freezies. We started giving him them when he was teething badly, now he wants them all the time. Sometimes it's the first thing he asks for in the morning. Beeeee!! (is what he says)

Our finished Crown moulding (ok, we just have a few touch-ups left). Great work, Gary!!!

My Grandmother at her 93rd birthday celebration. Doesn't she look just beautiful! I hope I can look as good as her at 93, and have lived such a happy life as hers.

My sister Colleen and her boyfriend, Dave in a candid moment. She's going to kill me for putting this picture up, but Colleen - I think it's stunning! This was taken at my Grandma's party.

Also at my Grandma's party - another great example of beauty, my Mother!

Gary and Calder at my Grandma's party enjoying the yummy cake! Calder kept going back and forth to eat cake - Mommy, Daddy, Mommy, Daddy.

Gary's birthday was March 12th and to celebrate, we went out for breakfast at the Station Grill here in Ajax. What a yummy breakfast! Calder loves drinking like a big boy out of a cup with a straw.

Is he not adorable?

Calder playing Daddy's Soccer game on Gary's birthday. Calder calls Soccer "Doc". He's actually scored a few goals, if you can believe it!

Just look at that intensity.

Goooooooooooooaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllll! (well I don't know if it was a goal, but he sure was excited about something in the soccer game!)

Just another cute picture.

Calder helping out Daddy blow out the birthday candles on his cake. Mommy was a bad wife and bought Daddy the wrong cake from DQ but at least this picture is nice.

Just love the looks that Calder has. He has so many expressions.

We recently went to one of Calder's cousin's hockey games. Calder just loves Peter "Peeee" as he says - and Calder loves hockey. What a great combination!!

Here's a couple of pics of Gary and Calder having some fun!

Calder still loves Guitar Heroes - more specifically, he loves the guitar more. He calls the Guitar "gar".

Here is Calder at his Grandma's for Easter Dinner. He looks like such a little boy here!

Calder giving Colleen's boyfriend Dave "Five".

Mommy and Calder horsing around. What a cutie patootie. (Him, not me)

Calder's never really had much chocolate before this. A chocolate chip cookie here or there, but never plain, unadorned chocolate. After his Easter Egg hunt he dove into an egg - he loved it so much!!

Calder, as always, being such a good boy on the road to Avo and Grandpa's for Easter Sunday dinner.
Yet another cute picture of such a cute face!

I took some shots just this morning of Calder and Daddy at the computer. I love this picture because Gary looks so happy here. This one is going in my scrapbook for sure.

We are truly blessed to have such a happy child - I hope he forever holds on to it!

I read a post somewhere where someone said something so beautiful about their child. It holds so true for so many parents, I am sure. I know that I think it, too.

Calder is my heart outside of my body.
