2 weeks and its a month.

Two weeks and a ton of change. Calder is growing so much. He is getting heavier, stronger, generally bigger and can sure cry a lot louder and longer.

How's this for proof?

He's also smiling a lot more, likely gas, but a parent can dream.

Speaking of dreaming, Calder doesn't snore yet, but he is bound to be as loud a sleeper as dad. He's expanding his range of sleep sounds from coos and gasps and is now adding in acrobatics. I think he dreams he is falling sometimes because suddenly his arms and legs flay into the air accompanied by a gasp, some fussing, and then sleep again.

Our dog (Finn) is getting a bit jealous now as he realizes all the people coming over to the house, well, they aren't exactly coming to see him. They are definitely getting along though. Calder is now getting sniffed a lot more by Finn and Finn is absolutely overjoyed by Calder joining him and dad on their walks. Finn still wants to lead the way, but he is constantly checking the stroller to see if Calder is OK.

Bathtime. Wow. What an adventure. Kudos to those dads who bathe their newborns. More slippery than a gelled eel when dry, when its bathtime, I play it safe and take pictures. I think Calder wished he played it safe too.

He doesn't exactly look forward to baths.

He always knows when "it's time"

Working on an escape route.

Must find a way. If they can do it on Prison Break, why can't I?

I'll escape after the next feeding.

Calder knows that dad laughs at him and his antics. And he doesn't like it one bit.

But mommy is always there to make him feel better.

Calder LOVES his mommy!

First Entry

Here goes my first foray into blogging... along with many other firsts happening lately in my life. First diaper change, first pangs of the heart when I heard him cry, first feeling of recognition from his face, and so much more.

I don't know how often I will update this, but I will.
