My little baby is turning into a little man

I say this only by looking at some of the pictures that I am getting of him lately. Some of the shots show that gone are the baby pictures, and I can clearly see what he is going to look like a few years down the road. Handsome, of course (hee hee)!

This weekend was sooo busy but it was a good one. On Saturday we went to Greenwood Conservation Area - we went there quite a few times last summer but Calder was much more 'portable' then - we would put him in the Snugli carrier. This year our first trip there required a lot more carrying than normal (hard when he is 30 pounds) but Calder loved every minute of it, it seemed. He enjoyed hearing the birds, seeing all the trees, and investigated the dirt underfoot. Calder especially loved when we were at the stream - while Finn was having fun romping in the water, Calder learned a new sport - rock-throwing. My, he could pitch them quite far! He and I stood there for a good 15 minutes, just throwing 'bocks' into the water.

Gary also got a new bike for him and I to share on Saturday and is getting some new rollerblades. We've recently gotten a jogger stroller for our rollerblading expeditions, so now we can all go as a family and since I am still not the best at braking when rollerblading, I will be using Gary's bike sometimes!

We also stopped by, unannounced, for a very quick backyard visit to our friends and neighbours, Tracy and Kevin and their son, Parker. Today, Calder and Parker were lucky enough to play together again in Parker's backyard. I know that Calder had a blast, and is quite taken with Parker. Today Calder tried hugging him about 3 times!! We are looking forward to the summer when Calder, Parker, his Mom and I are going to be able to spend much more time together.

Oh ya, did I mention that Calder is going to my school next year? Yep, he is growing up, that's for sure - he is going to be in the age 2 programme! I am really excited- it is going to save us money, time - and more importantly Calder will be close to me.

Today Calder and I also paid a little visit to his Grandmother in the morning, as she hasn't seen Calder in about a month. Although she is suffering from a hurt back at the moment, it was great to see her and I know Calder had a great time seeing his Grandma!!

I hope that everyone has a wonderful week - Spring is finally here!!
