Crawling and teeth

Well Gary was supposed to do the next post, but has been so busy lately and hurting with his knee, that it just wasn't possible. This weekend he is at a course all day and every day, so he's super busy still. So, I'll just do a quick post here because a few people have been bugging me about new pictures. I don't have a lot of new ones, as our camera battery died and we were debating on either getting a new camera or another battery (for $70) and we decided on the latter.

We had two exciting events since the last post. Calder crawled for the first time last Friday - first he crawled toward the phone that he was chasing (courtesy of Gary) and then he crawled toward me. I'm not kidding you - he was up on his hands and knees and everything! Since then, not a crawl - but more a military-style crawl - pulling his body along with hands - but he moves soooo quickly, I really have to start keeping my eye on him. He's all over the place, exploring the heating vent (even taking it out), exploring outlets (yes, we have protectors in now!) and exploring our dog, much to his chagrin, sometimes.

Another exciting thing was that on Monday I finally found two teeth! That's right, two!!! I was so excited when I found them in our weekly session of Babyville I nearly screamed. He's been teething badly for 3 months so I was hoping this would give him relief. However, last night he was still gnawing at my jaw (which HURTS when he has 2 teeth!) and I am thinking that the top two are soon following.

Yesterday Calder had his 6-month pictures taken - not our best session, but of course, he's still cute!!! I'm going to pick them up today with my sister (who's coming for a visit) and I'll post it later on this same post.

Not much else to report - but here are a few pictures of Calder's continued foray into the world of solid foods. So far he's had rice and oatmeal cereals and sweet potatoes, squash and carrots. He doesn't really like carrots at all, but he'll take a few spoonfuls. These are pictures from today - where Calder insisted upon feeding himself - when I took away the spoon he would make such a stink. I have great video on it and I am bugging Gary to show me how to get it on here, so look for it in the future.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
